Hi Dave,Thank you so much for your kind words. Absolutely you can perform any ceremony you wish with our blessing and it is lovely to hear he is in your and so many people’s thoughts. I don’t think Rupert ever realised just how much he was loved and respected by so many people and when I read these stories it does make you think about how it’s the little things like a smile or a conversation that contribute to enriching our lives everyday. He will be missed by all of us but I know he is not in pain anymore and resting in peace. Ralf I, (Ralf Nigam), give (David Hennessey) permission to do temple work in a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temple, for (Rupert Roy Nigam), who is my (brother).  (Ralf Nigam) Dear Ralf; I am one of Rupert and Freds good friends here at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. I have known Rupert for about 7 years and he was one of the first I met when I came to Guangzhou. He was always lending me his Dr. Who DVD's and we laughed alot about those and other things. He was always so happy and in my mind is not gone but just on vacation, as it were. Whenever I met Rupert and Fred on the street they always made me happy and I never saw either of them down or depressed. They always seemed to smile and have something good to say about everybody. I recall the first time I worked on the IELTS exams and Rupert gave me instruction and confidence to fulfill that role. He was a great example to me, even though I am much older. He also loved the students and they loved him. When I told some students that he had passed they were stunned and I could tell it affected them greatly. We were a bit speechless and so we discussed life, mortality and what happens after we pass. And that is one of the other reasons I would like to email you. I am a Latter-day Saint, from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I realize that we are from different backgrounds, religions and countries, as I am an American. But I think we all have similar feelings about Christianity and our families and we want the best for them. Since I loved Rupert as a friend and as a colleague I wanted to ask for your permission to perform some sacred ordinances in our LDS Hong Kong Temple for and in behalf of Rupert. I assure you these are sacred and very much done with love and concern for our dear friends and family. When Jesus was on the earth he required all to be baptized and said we had to do this in order to follow him. Other saving ordinances such as sealing families together forever and endowments were done. Many people who have died have not had the chance to have these sacred ordinances performed in their behalf and so we as Latter-day Saints research our genealogy and present names of ancestors to the temple to have these sacred ordinances done for them. Usually someone, acting as a proxy, will be baptized, endowed or sealed for that person, acting as a proxy. Again I assure you it is done with humility, care and love. In this way, as the scriptures point out, Those people can then pass by the angels that act as sentinels to God and they can return to live in his presence. And if the entire family has these sacred ordinances, then, they can once again be reunited as families, forever. We believe that families can be together forever. I loved Rupert and was sad for a while but now I realize he is in a better place and I just must live worthy of him so that I can also be worthy to see him again. I testify that this is true doctrine and that I know that we will meet again. Thank you for your consideration.  Your new friend, Dave. https://www.lds.org/temples?lang=eng LDS Temples (Mormon Temples) - The House of the Lord www.lds.org Learn about LDS (Mormon) temples, including locations, construction announcements, why the Lord has commanded His people to build temples, and more. Since Rupert was truly a wonderful friend and I wish only to have his sacred name remembered I was wondering if I could have your permission to present his name in our temple and have his work completed? If not, I fully understand. I will also include a pamphlet about the temple and a website you can look at that explains more fully our temple work. Again, it is very sacred and taken with the utmost care and concern for the family.
