Oracle E-Business Suite Diagnostics for Release 11i and 12 Installation Instructions

This document (Doc ID: 167000.1) contains instructions for applying the latest Oracle E-Business Suite Diagnostics patch onto an existing E-Business Suite Release 11i or R12 environment. Oracle E-Business Suite Diagnostic tests are shipped as a patch and applied using the "adpatch" utility. This document explains the steps to be taken to successfully install the patch onto an E-Business Suite installation.

This document is divided into 2 independent sections:

  1. Installation on E-Business Suite Release 12
  2. Installation on E-Business Suite Release 11i

Installation on E-Business Suite Release 12


Depending on the version of R12 Diagnostics you plan to install, please see the table below for installation instructions.

NB: E-Business Suite Diagnostics 12.0.6+ now uses Role Based Access Control (RBAC). Please see Note 358831.1 for information.

11i Installation Steps

11i Step 1: Pre-install Tasks

  1. Apply IZU Splice Patch
    If adsplice Patch 3636980 for 11i has never been applied to your E-Business Suite release before, download and apply adsplice patch Patch 3636980 for 11i. If this patch is already applied, go to the next step.

    adsplice Patch Installation Notes
    • "Oracle Diagnostic Tools" (short name "IZU" - product top "$IZU_TOP") is a new application in the E-Business Suite. If you have not done so before, you will need to add the IZU product to your installation. Applying Patch 3636980 for 11i will do this.
    • Customers with "AutoConfig" enabled systems should be on AD patchset I.2 ( Patch 4337683 ) or above to ensure the new "IZU" product is registered correctly in autoconfig files.
    • Customers on AD.H or below may need to execute adsplice twice to correctly register the IZU product into FND_PRODUCT_INSTALLATIONS table.
      See the adsplice patch readme for additional details.
    • Customers with multi-node installations of E-Business Suite should run the adsplice patch on all nodes.
    • Tablespace sizing details can be found in Note 235307.1.

11i Step 2: Installation Tasks

  1. Apply E-Business Suite Diagnostic Tools Patch

    Note
    Customers with a minimum of E-Business Suite 11.5.9 and patched with ATG_PF.H RUP 4 or above should install the 11i Nov 2008 Diagnostics Patch, otherwise please install the 11i Pre-ATG.RUP.4 Diagnostics Patch.


    IMPORTANT: Apply only ONE of the following patches depending on the version of your E-Business Suite version
    Customers who have installed E-Business Suite 11.5.9 or above and patched with ATG_PF.H RUP 4 or above should download and apply Patch 7530017 (11i Nov 2008).
    Customers who have installed E-Business Suite 11.5.4 with FND.D and AD.G or above but do not have ATG_PF.H RUP 4 or above installed should download and apply Patch 6989371 (11i Pre-ATG.RUP.4).

    • NB: The Nov 2008 Diagnostic patch now has a hard-prerequisite of ATG_PF.H RUP 4. Installation will fail if this prerequisite is not met.
    • Customers with multi-node installations of E-Business Suite should install this patch on all nodes.
    • This patch contains XML files that are periodically updated. Please check Note 357745.1 for newer versions and instructions for their installation.

    • Customers with multi-node installations of E-Business Suite should install this patch on all nodes.
    • Customers who are on AD.H or below or customers who receive either of the following errors during patch application are advised to apply the E-Business Suite Diagnostics Tests patch using options=noprereq as an adpatch parameter.

      • AutoPatch error:
        This patch has some prerequisites specified, but the "prereq patch checking" feature is not activated, thereby rendering it impossible to check for the prerequisites.

11i Step 3: Post-install Tasks

  1. Assign "Oracle Diagnostics Tool" Responsibility.
    Oracle E-Business Suite Diagnostics are launched exclusively from within the Oracle E-Business Suite via the "Oracle Diagnostics Tool" responsibility. Users who wish to execute diagnostic tests should have their system administrator assign the "Oracle Diagnostics Tool" responsibility to their E-Business Suite user account.
