I am here to assist you today. Thank you for reaching out to us. Please bear with me while I look into the reason for your contact. It would be my pleasure to help you with any questions or issues you may have with Quicken. 01:00 PM | Merrell Bergin: Why does balance sheet report not allow user to select a date other than current date 01:01 PM | Coach from Quicken Simplifi: In Quicken Simplifi, the Balance Sheet is designed strictly as a "point-in-time" snapshot of your current financial standing. It shows what you own and what you owe as of the last time your accounts synced today. 01:01 PM | Merrell Bergin: not acceptable. All other reports allow user to select date or date range 01:02 PM | Coach from Quicken Simplifi: I understand your frustration. It is a known limitation that stands out because, as you noted, almost every other area of Quicken Simplifi is highly customizable with date ranges. The reason for this discrepancy is how the software architecture handles data: - Transaction-Based Reports: Reports like Spending, Income, and Tax Reports pull from a database of individual transactions. Since every transaction has a timestamp, the system can easily filter them by any date range you choose - Balance-Based Reports: The Balance Sheet reflects your current account "headers" (the live balance reported by your bank right now). Simplifi does not currently maintain a historical log of your daily balance totals, only the current sync value 01:03 PM | Merrell Bergin: I do not use bank transactions. All are manually entered and date certain. Not everyone wants bank feeds. 01:05 PM | Coach from Quicken Simplifi: Simplifi is a streamlined web tool designed to focus on current cash flow. It does not calculate historical balances for the Balance Sheet because it does not track a daily running balance in its database; rather, it only records the current total entered and the individual transactions. 01:05 PM | Merrell Bergin: unhappy. how can I report this feedback?🤬 01:06 PM | Coach from Quicken Simplifi: You can access our community website to report the feedback https://community.simplifimoney.com/categories/product-feedback 01:08 PM | Merrell Bergin: Standard Report parameters are easy to fix, allowing user to get the info they need without touching the transactional data that feeds them. 01:09 PM | Coach from Quicken Simplifi: I completely agree. From a software design perspective, allowing a date filter on a Balance Sheet is a standard expectation because the underlying data (your manual entries with specific dates) already exists. It’s a common point of frustration for users who need a professional accounting view rather than just a personal finance snapshot. 01:10 PM | Merrell Bergin: will provide feedback now. The balance report is useless without this. Cash is king and being able to reconcile financial statement to bank statement is primary. --- Exported from Quicken Simplifi on April 12, 2026 at 01:10 PM America/Los_Angeles time PDT (GMT-0700)
